Adobe Illustrator Portrait Practice

Writer: JasonJason

Illustrator has been difficult for me to get a handle on. It impresses me as less a drawing application and more like a math one. Or maybe I'm too used to Photoshop. I've been working on finding an approach that students can relate to, and tracing pictures gives them a starting point. They can be very intimidated by a blank page.

And just like I tell them, it's not being good at it now. It's practicing and getting better!

Here's some Adobe Illustrator portrait practice I'm doing this afternoon, trying to use all the tools I can. I need to work on color blending, among other things. And now that I've pretty well quit social media, I'll share all my lil doodles right here!
